The grand jury reviewing the evidence in the death of Nolan Wells has found that no criminal charges are warranted at this point, according to the Jackson County Grand Jury Report released late Monday night. The report says that the "position of, condition of, time of discovery, and location" of the 18-year-old's body off the coast of Mississippi this July is "consistent with drowning."
Wells vanished after he and friends had gone out celebrating the Fourth of July holiday on barrier islands off the Gulf Coast. His body was recovered in the waters off Horn Island two days later.
Authorities have previously said they believe the college football player drowned, but the final determination would go to a grand jury that would review all the case materials, including the state medical examiner's completed autopsy report, to decide whether Wells' death involved a crime. The grand jury of 23 people, convened last week, found "no credible evidence to support the public allegations" that anyone riding to or from the island that day surrounding Wells "engaged in any criminal conduct related to" his death.
Well, apparently that's that as the woke, black liberal narrative of 'black kid with all white friends must've been murdered by said white kids' falls apart and resident ambulance-chaser Ben Chump will not be receiving a payday on this one. Of course it's a tragedy that Nolan Wells is dead and sympathy to his family and friends in their time of grief. But a grand jury (with 5 black members) reviewed all of the evidence and found no signs of wrongdoing. Therefore, the attempt to turn a tragic death into an opportunity to sow division, speculation and get money only speaks to greed and moral deficiency.
