A federal judge temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s order banning CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House.
Judge Timothy Kelly, whom Trump nominated to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in 2017, blocked Trump’s ban in a ruling early Thursday morning and ordered the White House to restore access to the three news organizations. Kelly, who in 2018 ordered then-CNN reporter Jim Acosta’s press credentials restored after the Trump administration revoked them, issued a 14-day restraining order. Such temporary restraining orders are issued before a court reviews a case more comprehensively.
In the ruling, Kelly wrote that CNN, MS NOW, and Politico are “likely to succeed” in demonstrating that the Trump administration had not given the outlets “adequate due process.”
MSNOW and CNN in particular both hate Trump. But to be fair, Trump's handling of this latest media brouhaha has been reckless and frankly speaking dumb. First of all, instead of banning them from the White House at the last minute, why not just stop dealing with them altogether and ignore them? Tell your Press Secretary (if there's ever another one) to stop calling on them for questions. Do the same when you deal with the press one-on-one. Only allow certain cabinet members to go on air with CNN. Stop giving a clown and a grifter like Kaitlan Collins attention by talking to her or even worse dissing her so much publicly, because the liberal media is always going to side with Collins and make Trump out to be a misogynist. Because the more they see how much they get under your skin, the more they love it. Also, fight back against CNNs and MSNOWs lies and propaganda with facts from your main spokespeople. Considering that the same judge ruled against him before when he tried the same stunt on Jim Acosta during Trump 1.0, Trump was bound to lose this fight and he did. Now he's stuck with them, but too hard-harded to try a different flex.
