Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is facing backlash from fellow progressives after taking the stage at a Chris Brown concert in Texas to honor the singer, with critics pointing to his sordid history of violence towards women.
The Democrat appeared alongside Brown at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Saturday, where she suggested that his career and impact, along with that of tourmate Usher, would be formally recognized.
“We are here because of Chris Brown!” Crockett shouted as Brown stood beside her and the crowd erupted. “We are experiencing Black joy at the highest level. And I wanted to make sure we document that at the congressional level. So let’s give it up again for Chris Brown,” she added, embracing the singer before leaving the stage. Texas state Rep. Venton Jones (D) also joined Crockett onstage and presented Brown with a state resolution honoring his achievements in music and entertainment.
Funny how this works. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, the renowned and latest Black Liberal Queen, who only has 4 months left in Congress and has accomplished nothing during her 4 years in the House outside of serving as the ratchet, black, face of the TDS movement, is receiving backlash from progressives for appearing onstage with Chris Brown?!? If only it was all so simple. Because I'm skeptical enough to believe that either Crockett doesn't give a f or she's playing the long game and catering to all the plethora of Black criminals she'll be helping out once she's out of Congress and back as a public defender in Texas.
